Allison Turrell was born the year of Roman Polanski’s Chinatown, Kool & The Gang’s Jungle Boogie, the kidnapping of Patty Hearst, and Nixon’s resignation. She was raised on a steady diet of cable television, politics, and root vegetables in an extended family of Depression era Germans, Lithuanians and Irish in New England. Realizing she would never fulfill her dreams of being a Solid Gold Dancer, she studied sexual politics and literary theory. She received her MFA in Photographic & Electronic Media from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2006. She runs Stuck On On, an audio and visual post production company in Austin, Texas. She recently authored a Photoshop CS4 training video with Firefly Learning, Inc.
